Associate Director, Marketing Metabolics and Diagnostics International (m/f/divers)

Position Summary

The Assiciate Director International Marketing Metabolics will be instrumental in participating in the development of the marketing strategies for the International Organization and in ensuring excellence in the implementation of tactical plans. (S)He will be a contact point for external as well as internal stakeholders, driving the integration of key business opportunities within the disease education and branded environment.

The Associate Director Marketing Metabolics will be instrumental  in participating in the development of international strategies and responsible for the development for the tactical plan  in partnership with  International Head Marketing, selected Strategic markets and the global VISion team to achieve business objectives for International.(S)He will collaborate  with International Sales and Launch Excellence, Medical, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, and other cross-functional partners to implement plans and marketing initiatives to drive disease education, diagnostics and brand initiatives to improve demand generation and appropriate utilization of Strensiq® and Kanuma®. In collaboration with Commercial Operations the Associate Director Marketing Metabolic leads the analysis of current business and drives interpretation of information to design, monitor and adjust marketing tactics and campaigns. (S)He ensures strong collaboration with the Sales and Marketing excellence team for seamless and efficient execution of marketing initiatives in country. The  Associate Director Marketing Metabolics furthermore supports the Medical and Market Access department in driving engagement with key stakeholders including Key Opinion Leaders, other external stakeholders and agencies.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support development of international of international strategic and tactical marketing plans in collaboration with strategic markets and in alignment with the global VISion team 
  • Lead development and implementation of international tactical marketing plans for Strensiq® and Kanuma®. in collaboration strategic markets and in alignment with the global VISion team 
  • Develop and lead implementation of all educational, diagnostic, and promotional programs for healthcare professionals in partnership  with  Medical, Sales ,Marketing Excellence and the Diagnostic Specialist
  • Co- Lead the Metabolic cross-functional team
  • Ensure execution and learning`s sharing across markets
  • Drive innovative  tactics including digital solutions to increase disease awareness and appropriated patients care
  • Develop smart and impactful collaboration with medical societies, corporate and diagnostic partners leveraging synergies
  • Support the market access colleagues in developing strategies and activities to optimize patient access
  • Build and cultivate credible and sustainable relationships with Medical Experts
  • Actively participate to the International Marketing Board – shaping Intl’ strategy and tactical selection with Strategic markets
  • Manage vendors, execute logistics, develop contents and communicate with all stakeholders
  • Manage international marketing budget for all projects under her/his responsibility
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with other functional areas and internal strategic partners (i.e. Sales, Medical, Launch Excellence, Marketing Excellence, Training, Market Research, Regulatory, Clinical, Legal, etc…)
  • Partner with the appropriate functions to foster best practice sharing among countries where applicable
  • Ensure full compliance of all projects and initiatives led with internal SOPs/policies and external reporting obligations


The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the above mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.



  • Minimum 8 commercial/marketing experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry with ideally in rare disease or specialty care environment
  • Sales/field experience desired
  • Strong scientific background required
  • Experience in successfully launching ethical products (preferred biotechnology products) preferred
  • Highly customer focused: from large accounts to physicians, patients, and payers
  • Learning agility, strong project management skills and track record in leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience in International/Regional Marketing or Sales role required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to create and foster strong team spirit and take on the role of ‘product champion’
  • Must possess a strong ability to manage multiple projects across functional areas, and work independently when appropriate, in teams and as a sub-team lead
  • Strong skills in MS office suite as well as deep experience in leveraging analysis and reporting tools and CRM systems
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. fluency in other languages is a plus
  • Ability to travel ~30% of time
